The (Transitory) State of Palestine aka TransJordan aka Jordan

The (Transitory) State of Palestine aka TransJordan

A sign of the growing success of the Israeli right's strategy is the fact that the idea that the Kingdom of Jordan is in fact Palestine is evermore alive. Ethnic tensions are tearing apart every one and all Middle Eastern countries. Today I read about a suicide bombing in Iran, committed by Shiites against the Sunni. Iran itself is a fragile multiethnic state, and large portion of its population is Turkish and feels closer to Azerbaijan than Teheran. Jordan is half Beduin and half Palestinian, and the two groups dislike each other. That fishwrap HaAretz writes that
the king is concerned that Israel will take advantage of the tensions to promote "the alternative state," a theory that holds that Jordan is the Palestinian state.
It seems to me if we hold out long enough, the Palestinian problem will solve itself to our advantage. Personally, I think that CisJordan is ours, and TransJordan as well. But we are open to temporary transitory political arrangements.
